Belgium to propose Praet for ECB vice president

BRUSSELS, Nov 30 (Reuters) - Belgium will on Tuesday put forward Peter Praet as a candidate to become the next European Central Bank vice president, a finance ministry spokesman said.
Praet, 60, is a director at Belgium's central bank responsible for international cooperation and financial stability.
The spokesman said on Monday the proposal would be put to the Eurogroup of finance ministers, which meets on Tuesday.
